Description

Recent progress in nuclear electronics and nuclear instrumentation creates the opportunity to develop optimum instruments in terms of cost and performance, and to apply them to environmental monitoring; particularly in-situ measurements and characterization of industrial materials. This CRP will address the potential options of new technologies, in particular low cost detector materials and multi-element detector systems. This CRP will be targeted at complementing the activities of the Working Group on In-situ Techniques for Radiological Characterization within ENVIRONET.

Impact

The CRP allowed the participants to exchange information and establish collaborative links

Relevance

The impact of the CRP was limited due to limited number of partners and low responsiveness among them; furthermore, the CRP TO left the project and no follow up was ensured due to lack of resources
