Description

The aim of this new CRP is to obtain a comprehensive set of input parameters (and corresponding uncertainties) for modelling of fission cross sections on actinides, based on microscopic and phenomenological approaches. Significant improvement in fission modelling will result in improved estimates of cross section values and associated uncertainties for nuclear energy applications.

Objectives

To produce a validated high-quality database of model input parameters for nuclear reaction modelling including uncertainty estimates.

Specific objectives

To recommend a comprehensive set of input parameters with estimates of uncertainties needed for modelling of fission cross sections based on microscopic and phenomenological approaches. Priorities will be given to the modelling of photon and nucleon induced reactions on actinides and a description of relevant reaction channels with emphasis on incident energies below 30 MeV

To validate the recommended set of input parameters using fission cross-section calculations for photon and neutron induced reactions below 30 MeV.
