To contribute to the improvement of radiation protection of persons likely to be exposed to rays emitted by radiological devices and staff working in health facilities, and provide radiological establishments with the necessary information for attaining the following goals: reduce patients’ exposure to ionizing radiation, while ensuring that the information required for diagnosis is obtained and that treatment is provided; adequately protect staff operating radiological devices; and afford appropriate protection for other staff members and the general public in areas where radiological devices are used.
